The D-2 visa was created for international students coming to Korea, and is unique in that it is issued only to educational institutions that provide formal degrees.

Please note that the D-4 language training visa does not apply to international students!

In addition to this, there are different types of certificates issued depending on the degree, such as associate's degree, bachelor's degree, and master's degree. Please refer to the table below.

So, what educational institutions do not issue D-2 visas?

- Broadcasting University, Correspondence University, Broadcasting University and Cyber University (Distance University)

- Vocational training courses

- Night colleges and graduate schools that allow study abroad residency qualifications, excluding some night degree programs

(*In some cases where it is permitted: a night graduate school without a daytime curriculum, a specialized night course at a junior college, and a course that has passed a preliminary screening of the nighttime degree course by the competent immigration office)
