[Part 2] A complete summary of the D-10-1 visa that international students need

⚑ 2. Permission to change residence status

  Q1) I am about to graduate. I would like to quickly change my visa to D-10-1. How can I find out if I am eligible?

◼ Of course! The following are permitted!

⦁ General job search (D-10-1): Applicable to the points system

- A legal resident in Korea who holds a bachelor's degree (domestic associate's degree) or higher and has a total score of 60 points or more on the job search score sheet, with 20 points or more in the basic items out of a total of 190 points.

General Employment (D-10-1): Let's learn about the special exemption from the point system.

- In case of first job change after graduation as an international student (※ The point system is applied for the second extension.)

- For those with excellent Korean language skills who graduated from a domestic university (those who have not passed 3 years since obtaining their degree)

- TOPIK level 4 or higher, or those who passed the 4th stage midterm evaluation of the Social Integration Program, or those assigned to the 5th stage of the preliminary evaluation

- In the case of professional occupations (E-1~E-7 residence status), those whose employment contract has expired or whose employment activities have ended for other legitimate reasons

Since TOPIK has an expiration date, I recommend the Korea Institute for Social Integration Program (KIIP).

This is why you absolutely must be good at Korean.

 Q2) If there are permitted targets, are there also restricted targets?

◼ The restrictions are as follows!

1. A person who violates domestic laws and is subject to the following disqualifications:

- People who have been sentenced to imprisonment or a heavier penalty (within 5 years from the date of application)

- People who have received a departure order (within 5 years from the date of application)

 -3 million won Persons sentenced to a fine of the above (within 3 years from the date of application)

- People whose residence permit is restricted due to violation of other immigration control laws (3 years from the date of application)

2. If you have stayed in the country without extending your D-10 visa (within the past year from the date of application)

3. Those who apply for a change of status to D-10 more than 3 times within 3 years without complete departure from the country

→ Therefore, when working part-time, you must adhere to the permitted hours and job type.
