E-7-2 Nursing Assistant (42111)

The newly introduced nursing assistants are foreign students who graduated from domestic universities.We have established a pilot operation plan to allow acquisition of specific activity (E-7) qualification for up to 400 people per year for a period of two years (current students and graduates).

If you obtain an E-7 visa, you can invite your family from your home country to live with you in Korea.

Accordingly, international students who graduated from domestic universities can now obtain nursing assistant qualifications, and from July 2024, international students currently enrolled in school will also be allowed to obtain qualifications.

"In addition, the Ministry of Justice plans to allow overseas Koreans with a Visiting Employment Visa (H-2) to change their status to Overseas Koreans (F-4), which allows for an extension of their stay if they obtain nursing care worker qualifications.

This measure is expected to enable long-term employment of H-2 visiting workers working as nursing assistants, and also increase the number of new entrants.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health and Welfare has decided to actively pursue improvements in the treatment of domestic workers, including improving the long-term service incentives for nursing assistants, expanding the nursing assistant promotion system*, and easing the workload by improving the standards for assigning nursing assistants to elderly care facilities**, along with utilizing foreign workers.
